About Kris

Kris Martel serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Spectrum Management Services Company, a healthcare practice management firm that supports physician practices with a full suite of operational, clinical, and administrative services. In her role, Kris leads the organization’s HR strategy, overseeing talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, leadership development, and employee engagement.

Kris brings more than 25 years of experience in both human resources and finance leadership. She is known for her strategic mindset, operational rigor, and strong ability to build trust-based partnerships across organizations. Prior to joining SMSC, she was Chief Human Resources Officer for an organization where she modernized HR infrastructure across 67 communities, implemented a new HRIS platform, and led initiatives that significantly improved recruiting performance and employee experience.

Before that, Kris spent over two decades in leadership roles helping to shape workforce strategies, HR Information systems, and enterprise-wide change management processes. Kris began her career in finance, holding senior financial operations roles before transitioning into human resources—bringing a strong data-informed approach to people leadership.

Kris holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley University and has completed executive development programs focused on healthcare and HR leadership. Her community involvement includes service on the boards of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club and the One Company Fund, as well as ongoing volunteerism with the Boston Marathon.
