With over 30 years of experience, Tom Polko is a highly accomplished senior executive, renowned for his exceptional leadership in driving growth and transformative change in healthcare organizations. Throughout his journey, he has combined the development and implementation of business strategies, cultural alignment, external partnerships, staff, and leadership development to achieve exceptional results. Tom’s expertise lies in achieving strategic objectives and improvements in revenue, operational, and financial performance, while maintaining or enhancing clinical quality.
Prior to joining Spectrum, Tom provided leadership for the overall operations of multiple specialty practices, including oncology, orthopaedics, dental, and cardiology. His responsibilities included overseeing the expansion of their locations and recruiting providers. Each role reflects his ability to lead diverse departments, enhance strategic initiatives, and align organizational cultures.
Tom’s successes extend to policy and outreach development. While serving on the National Legislative Lobbying Committee for the Community Oncology Alliance, he worked with state and national alliances on reimbursement and access issues and partnered with hospitals and foundations to enhance care and access for the underinsured and uninsured.
Tom received his MBA from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He also sat on the board of the Maine Cancer Foundation and Center for Grieving Children.
